Beau-Tie appears solid black and
is registered as such, but there is something else going
on there that I'm not sure what it is. She has dark red
around her eyes, and dark red flanks. She's long, level, and quite a little powerhouse at this point in her life. Some of the best mammary systems we've produced are behind this girl, and we look forward to watching her develop.
UPDATE: After many months of failed attempts,
it appears that we have finally gotten Beau-Tie settled.
She was line bred to her paternal half brother,
Ram-Beau, and we expect great things from that breeding.
Beau, who is the sire of both Beau-Tie and Ram-Beau,
produced outstanding udders. Beau died as a yearling, so
this breeding brings him back (sorta). It's a
breeding with several generations of outstanding teat
placement and strength of medial. All
does will be retained. If her udder is as nice as we
expect, the first buck will be retained and a second buck has already been
reserved.
