CowGirl, so named because she is line bred on Cowpoke, is the end result of the most successful cross that we've tried in our herd....the Cowpoke X Green Gate cross. In CowGirl's case, she is double line bred on this particular cross. We got Sam from this cross last year, and he certainly has not disappointed us. CowGirl
is maturing into a long, level doe with an excellent
topline & rump. She won her dry leg with AGS on her
first trip into the show ring, and went on to be named
2007 AGS Reserve National Champion as a dry yearling.
UPDATE: We have decided to offer CowGirl
FOR SALE,
priced at $500. At this time, I think I'd
have to consider her a brood doe, but that might change
with time. Her udder, while being very well attached and
quite capacious, does not have the teat size or
placement that we demand in our herd, nor does she have
the strength of medial that we are striving for. If we
did not need to cut 10 - 12 milkers from the herd, I'd
never sell CowGirl. But, since we simply MUST cut
numbers back, and since we have higher quality mammary
systems than what we see at this time on CowGirl, we
feel it's the logical thing to do to let her move on to
someone else.
